Maoists shot dead retired policeman Padam Kharel of Dambarkhana in Bara district Saturday, police said. Rebels, working as a security guard, took  him from his home, and shot him dead after tying his hands and legs.

Insurgents Thursday night killed policeman Amar Bahadur Rai at Chamaita villager in Ilam by slitting his throat, security personnel said.
