Maoists abduct three in Jhapa

Kathmandu, June 28: Maoists abducted three persons including a village chief of Khajucrgachi, Shyam Sundar Yadav in Jhapa Tuesday.

Rebels released one of the abducted the following day but continue to hold two others, police said. There were no casualties in an exchange of gunfire between Maoists and police at an outpost at Khumel village in Rolpa Tuesday, police said.
