Hirendra Buda alias Chetan, an area committee member of the Maoists, was killed in an encounter with the military at a village in Jumla Monday, the Defence Ministry said Thursday.

The army recovered two guns during a search the same day at a village in Lamjung, the Ministry said. Locals surrendered two guns to security forces in Mugu Tuesday.

Rebels Wednesday murdered Padma Giri who had defected from the rebel ranks from his home in Sindhupalchowk, police said.
