A man poisoned and killed his wife and two children and the committed suicide at Dibyapuri in Nawalparasi district this week, police said.

Belmaya Magar, 32, Harsha Magar, 6, and Toklal Magar died after eating food laced with metacin. Puran Magar, 32, then took metacin and hanged himself from a tree.

Narayan Magar regained consciousness after treatment at hospital. The motive for the murders was not known.
