Hetauda: Mahendra Secondary School lifted the Birendra Shield of the 17th Birendra Shield sport meet being organised by Makawanpur district office here.

Chief district officer Sitaram Khanal, DIG Achyut Chalise, NC Makawanpur district president Ramchandra Aryal, secretary of the CPN-UML district committee Raghunath Khulal, SP Prem Bahadur Gurung, Makawanpur DDC chairman Rameshwore Rana and regional education director Kishore Sharma gave away the shield, medals, prizes and certificates to the winners of the volleyball and athletic events.

Mahendra Secondary School received first prizes in the boys and girls athletic events while Sharada Secondary School. Suryodaya Secondary School and Mahendra Secondary School received first, second and third prizes respectively in the boy’s volleyball event.

In the girl’s volleyball event Bal Jyoti Secondary School, Suryodaya Secondary School and Mahendra Secondary School received the first, second and third prize respectively.

The 17th Birendra Shield sports meet was participated by about 525 students from 41 public and private schools of Makawanpur district.
