The local administration has ordered journalists based in Myagdi, Baglung and Parbat districts in western region to be present before the Zonal Administration office (ZAO) along with their license, reports said.

According to Kantipur daily, Myagdhi district administration office (DAO) asked all journalists to be present at zonal administration office within 15th December, as per the direction of ZAO. ZAO has also asked Chief District Officer to be present during the period.

Likewise, journalists of Parbat district were also asked to be present on 17th December. The Myagdi DAO also asked journalists to be present before the ZAO on 15th December to furnish explanation in some issues related to security.

The paper quoted Chief District Officer of Myagdi district, Ganga Sagar Dhakal, as saying that he had issued the letters as per the direction of ZAO.

Chairperson of Dhaulagiri Branch of Federation of Nepalese Journalists Rajesh Bhandair said that they are discussing with other journalists to decide whether to present before the ZAO or not.
