Four people were killed in Kaski and Syangja districts in landslides that occurred following heavy rains Friday night and Saturday morning police said.
Three others were injured in the landslides while the condition of one other victim is still unknown.
Sarswoti Timilsina,25, resident of Sarangkot Village Development Committee, ward No: 5 in Kaski district and her one-year-old daughter Hari Kala were killed in the landslide.
Similarly, Chitra Kumari Thapa, 40, wife of Jagat Thapa, resident of Waling Municipality, ward No: 5 and eight-year old Rajendra Thapa from the same place were also killed in a landside.
Ambika Thapa, 17 daughter of Jagat Bahadur Thapa is still missing, according to the police. The landslide that occurred right at the back yard of Thapa’s house had pulled down the house. Ambika who was washed away with the landslip is still being sought.
According to the police, the landslide that occurred Saturday morning crushed to death Sarswoti Timalsina and her one-year-old daughter. The landslide occurred a few meters away from their house at Sarangkot. The other members of the Timalsina family Muga Timalsina, Gurudutta Timalsina and Yam Timalsina were injured in the landslide.
The last rites of the mother and daughter Timalsina killed in the landslide was performed at the local Ramghat following the postmortem at the western regional hospital.
