President of the ruling Nepali Congress party Girija Prasad Koirala and Chinese Prime Minister Zhu Rongi will meet Sunday, the party said Saturday. Koirala is visiting China at the invitation of the Chinese Communist party.
Chakra Prasad Bastola, chief of the party’s foreign relations department, party spokesman Arjun Narsingh K.C. and another member of the dissolved parliament will accompany Koirala. Koirala returns home Wednesday.
The delegation flies for China later Saturday as factions in the party led by Koirala and Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba asked their followers to exercise caution and save the organization from a split.
