Former Prime Minister and Nepali Congress Chairman Girija Prasad Koirala Friday gave a strong worded warning to King Gyanendra stating that the consequences would be bitter if he did not take steps to rectify the ‘perceived constitutional flaws’, media reports from the district said.
Koirala was addressing a mass meeting of Nepali Congress workers in Rajbiraj Friday. He said the King had invoked the Article 127 of the Constitution in contrary to the recommendation of the then Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba.
He said that after the Royal Proclamation of Oct 4 the distance between the political parties and the King had widened. “I will go on struggling till my last breadth to restore the rights of the people,” Koirala said.
