King to prorogue parliament next Thursday

King Gyanendra will prorogue the budget session of parliament next Thursday.

Speaker of the House of Representatives Taranath Ranabhatt made the announcement Thursday while addressing reporters in the capital. Parliament is being prorogued ahead of the coming festive season.

Ghatastaphana falls on Wednesday or October 17.
