In the absence of parliament, King Gyanendra issued three ordinances Thursday including one to establish a Medical Science National Academy on the “advice and recommendation” of the government of Prime Minister Lokendra Bahadur Chand, a government announcement said.
The announcement said the King acted on government advice as the Nepali Congress and the CPN-UML said the King has unconstitutionally assumed executive powers on October 4 for the first time in 12 years.
They were the first ordinances issued after the King’s dismissal of the Sher Bahadur Deuba government on October 4.
Two other ordinances include the Public Service Implementation and Follow-up and Inspection Ordinance and another to amend the Royal Household Expenditure. nepalnews.com br Nov.28
