Katmandu to host Asian Cup Group C qualifying matches

Kathmandu will host the qualifying matches of the Group C Asian Cup Football Tournament from March 16, an announcement said. A meeting of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) in Kuala Lumpur unanimously decided to hold the matches in the Nepali capital.

 

Nepal, Afghanistan and Kirgistan are in Group C of the Asian Cup Tournament to be played in China in 2002, All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) said Friday. Afghanistan will play Kyrgyzsthan March 16 while host Nepal meets Afghanistan April 18; Nepal and Kyrgyzsthan clash March 20. The qualifying team will play  Oman, Korea and Vietnam.
