The Indian government Tuesday supported the declaration of emergency to quell Maoist violence in Nepal, while condemning the resurgence of such violence. This was stated in a press communique issued by the Indian Embassy.

Earlier, the United States condemned the Maoist resurgence of violence while the European Union regretted it.
