The Government of India has extended a financial assistance of Rs 4.7 million to Nepal Art Council for constructing a gallery in the premises of the Council.
A Memorandum of Understanding to this regard was signed between the Embassy of India, Kathmandu Metropolitan City and the Council on Friday.
A press statement issued by the Indian Embassy said that the project is being undertaken under India-Nepal Economic Cooperation Programme with funding by the Government of India.
The Indian Government through this project conveys the goodwill and love that the people of India have for their Nepalese brethren in walking the path of development together, the statement added.
