His Majesty King Gyanendra is scheduled to leave on an unofficial visit to the Eastern Development Region of the country.

According to official announcements, the King is leaving for the region on Friday so as to learn about the state of affairs there. No further details were given. There are 16 districts in the development region.

It is King Gyanendra’s first visit of its kind after assuming executive power on February 1,according to reports. The visit is for a few days, the announcement said.
