His Majesty the King received the ‘nutan Yagyopavit’ (sacred thread) at the Narayanhiti Royal Palace on Friday.

The king also received ‘rakshya sutra’ (sacred amulet) from Bada Gurujyu Janardanraj Pandey, Nayav Bada Gurujyu Dr Madhav Bhattarai, and other gurus and purohits, state owned news agencies said.

Her Majesty the Queen, Their Royal Highnesses the Crown Prince and Crown Princess, among other members of the royal family, also received the ‘rakshya sutra’.
