Helen Keller Foundation to fight trachoma

Helen Keller Foundation of USA will invest Rs.70.92 million in the next five years to control trachoma through school education and improved quality of food for women and children in six districts.

An agreement has been signed between the Social Welfare Council (SWC) and the Foundation to work in Makwanpur, Kailali, Kanchanpur, Doti, Nuwakot and Dhankuta. AIDS Info-Docu of Switzerland will provide the Council $86,000 in the next five years to finance various programmes.

Planate Infants of France has been permitted to work for another five years in Nepal with a $100,000 contribution, an  announcement said.
