KATHMANDU: The Pokhara-based Gurkha Welfare Scheme (GWS) completed a four-day eye camp in Tehrathum from December 10 to 13 mainly for retired ex-British army Gurkhas, the British embassy said Wednesday.
The free eye camp was organized in liaison with the Lion Eye Centre. Altogether 47 people, both ex-servicemen and civilians were operated on for eye diseases and over 850 attended a clinic arranged by the British Gurkhas camp in the capital. Another eye camp will be run in Tanahu district later in December.
