The BP Thought Foundation has appealed to the government to immediately release all the arrested political leaders, cadres, human rights activists, journalists and teachers.

Issuing a statement, the Foundation has said, “We will be compelled to initiate countrywide peaceful demonstrations if positive steps in this regard are not taken by the government.”

President of the Foundation, Haribol Bhattarai, has been taken into custody by the security forces.

Similarly, Human Rights and Peace Society has also asked the government to release all arrested political leaders, human rights activists and teachers including its former president Krishna Pahadi.

Meanwhile, responding to a habeas corpus petition on Tuesday, the Supreme Court ordered the government authorities to produce child rights activist Gauri Pradhan before the court on February 28 for a hearing. nepalnews.com pd Feb 23 05
