Govt. to scrap 7,518 civil posts

Minister for Information and Communication Ramesh Nath Pandey said the government had initiated the process of scrapping close to 7,518 posts that had fallen vacant in the government services.

US Assistant Secretary of State for South Asia Christina Rocca left for Islamabad Sunday upon completing her three-day visit to the Himalayan Kingdom.

Rocca during her visit to Nepal was granted audience by the King. She met with the Prime Minister, Foreign Minister and Foreign Secretary and exchanged views on the state of the Maoist insurgency in Nepal.

She also stressed the need to narrow down the misunderstanding between the political parties and the King to find a way out of the present political crisis.
