The Home ministry has extended the deadline to house owners in the capital valley to submit report to local authorities or police about themselves, people who have hired their premises and domestic helpers, if any, by a month.

According to the ministry, the landlords can now submit the details of persons living on rent to the nearest District Administration Office, Police Office, District Development Committee, Metropolis, Sub-Metropolis, Municipality, VDC or the ward office concerned within September 16.

The officials say that the collection of the details of people living in Kathmandu was for security reasons. The population of the three districts in the valley is 1,645,091, according to the latest census.
