The government has nominated chairmen and vice chairmen in 47 District Development Committees (DDC) Monday.
The districts where appointments to the top district post were made are Taplejung, Ilam, Sankhuwasabha, Terahthum, Dhankuta, Morang, Sunsari, Solukhumbu, Okhaldhunga, Udaypur, Saptari, Dolakha, Ramechhap, Sarlahi, Nuwakot, Rasuwa, Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur, Dhading, Bara, Makwanpur, Gorkha, Lamjung, Tanahun, Kaski, Syngja, Parbat, Palpa, Nawalparasi, Rupendehi, Kapilvastu, Arghakhanchi, Rukum, Rolpa, Pyuthan, Dang, Mugu, Kalikot, Dailekh, Surkhet, Bardiya, Bajura, Achham, Baitadi, Darchula and Banke.
Earlier in June, the government had nominated DDC chairmen and vice chairmen of Jhapa, Paanchthar, Bhojpur, Khotang, Siraha, Mohottari, Sindhuli, Chitwan, Parsa, Kavre, Manang, Mustang, Baglung, Myagdi, Gulmi, Banke, Jajarkot, Salyan, Humla, Jumla, Kailali, Bajhang, Doti, Kanchanpur and Dadeldhura districts.
The Banke DDC chief has been nominated again as the person appointed to the post in June resigned.
A statement of the Ministry of General Administration said the appointments were made as per the Local Autonomous Governance Act. The statement added that the appointment in the remaining districts-Dolpa, Dhanusha, Sindhupalchowk and Rautahat-would be announced soon.
