Chairman of Nepal Workers & Peasants’ Party, Narayan Man Bijukchhe, one of the parties of the seven party alliance, said on Wednesday that the controversy amongst the parties increased after the 12-point accord between the Maoists and the political parties, reports said.

Bijukchhe claimed that the agreement was made public without discussing it with other constituents in the alliance.

Addressing a press conference organised in Nepalgunj, Bijukchhe said, “Discussions and revision of the agreement is a must as most of the points are vague. If those points are not reviewed in time, the outcome may be detrimental,” according to reports.

He added that the controversy could be minimised if the language of 12-point accord is revised and passed by the central committees of all seven parties. He said, “The agreement should have been made public after a meeting of all the seven parties. As such, now it should be okayed by the central committee of seven parties.”

Commenting on the proposal of the Royal Nepalese Army being put under supervision of United Nations or any other international mediator, Bijukchhe said, “This will not only put a question mark on the nation’s sovereignty and integrity, but will pave the way for international military intervention here.”

Bijukchhe said that a constituent assembly does not mean the end of monarchy or a full-fledged republic.
