Fulpati, the 7th day of Bada Dashain, was marked Monday in Nepal by bringing Fulpati (special floral offering) into ‘Dashain Ghars’ established in households and Durga temples.

In Kathmandu, a special Fulpati function was organised at Tundikhel this afternoon. His Majesty King Gyanendra, Crown Prince Paras and Crown Princess Himani graced the ceremony as the hundreds of ordinary people watched the program from outside the iron fence around Tundikhel.

Speaker Taranath Ranabhat, ministers and army and police officials were present on the occasion.

Similarly, the royals also graced the traditional Fulpati ceremony at Hanumandhoka this evening. As per tradition, Fulpati brought from Gorkha is established at the Dashain Ghar at Hanumandhola.

His Majesty King and Her Majesty Queen Komal returned to Kathmandu early today winding up their five-day unofficial tour to the western region. The royals who visited Kaski, Baglung, Butwal and Gorkha districts had stayed in Pokhara’s Ratna Mandir.

During the tour, His Majesty gave instructions to representatives of local bodies, senior administrative and security officials and interacted with ordinary citizens to acquire information about their problems and grievances.
