One person was injured and a house collapsed in adjoining Dhading district as a powerful quake struck Nepal with its epicentre in nearby Gorkha district 90 kms north west of the capital Monday night, police said.

There were no immediate reports of casualties or damage from Gorkha, district headquarters with the same name as the district. It was difficult to place telephone calls to the quake affected area because of clogged lines.
