The Financial Ordinance issued Monday by King Gyanendra upon the recommendation of the Council of Ministers apart from giving continuity to the budget for the fiscal year 2002/2003 has sought to revamp the ailing industrial and economic sectors.

The King also gave assent to two other ordinances-Appropriation Ordinance-2003 and Ordinance for Raising National Loans 2003.

The new ordinance according to sources at the Finance Ministry has outlined the provision to computerize the offices at the five major custom points in the country. It has given a waiver of 50 per cent in exise arrears to the industries seeking to renew their registration.

The ordinance has made provisions for efficient revenue administration apart from raising the ceiling of mobilisation of internal loans.

Finance Minister Dr. Badri Prasad Shrestha will make public the contents of the budget Tuesday, according to the Finance Ministry.
