Dr. Mahesh Chandra Regmi was cremated at Pahsupati Aryaghat Thursday morning. The academician and author died early Thursday of Parkinson’s Disease.
Second son Sirish Chandra Regmi lit the funeral pyre. He left behind a wife, four sons and one daughter.
He authored 14 books on Nepal. He published Nepal: An Historical Miscellany in 2002. He received the Magsaysay Award in 1977.
He wrote profusely despite his bed confinement after dissociating his hip joint four years ago; he was suffering from Parkinson’s disease for the last 16 years. nepalnews.com br July 10
