The local newspapers in eastern Dhankuta district, which were suspended by the local authorities after the declaration of emergency in the country, have been permitted to resume publication.

According to reports on Wednesday, Shambhu Prasad Ghimire, Chief District Officer (CDO) of the district asked the journalists to go ahead with their work. He however reminded them that the publishers and journalists must take note of the directives issued by the government.

He also asked the journalists to work in favour of restoring peace in the country. CDO Ghimire was speaking in an interaction program in the district on Tuesday, according to reports.
