Society for Open Nepal (SFON), a non-profit organization founded in California (USA) with the vision of creating a lasting change in Nepal, named Mr. Sher Bahadur Deuba, former Prime Minister of Nepal, and President of Nepali Congress (Democratic) party, as its Honorary Chairman, a January 6 press release said.
Founded in 2003 by Sujit Thapa and Dipesh Shrestha, SFON is committed to assisting in creating a lasting change in Nepal. SFON is a dynamic result-oriented organization with a mission to provide impetus in transforming Nepal into a knowledge-based digital economy.
The organization (www.opennepal.org) plans to initiate and support sound education programs, and is also geared towards contributing to social and economic reform programs to accelerate social and economic change in Nepal.
“The esteemed presence of Mr. Deuba will behoove the organization for its strategic growth, and its long-term vision of imparting social and economic reforms in Nepal,” the statement added.
