KATHMANDU: Former prime minister and Nepali Congress (Democratic) president Sher Bahadur Monday said he has discussed the current political situation of the country with Indian leaders. The NC-D leader is currently in India.

“I have discussed the current political turmoil of the country with Indian leaders. There were talks on the Maoist problem too and ways to tackle it but the main focus was on bilateral ties,” said Deuba in an interview given to Nepal 1, a Delhi-based television channel.

Although he didn’t reveal the nitty-gritty of his visit on the record, the TV channel reported that Indian leaders have stressed on the unity between the King and political parties.

Deuba met Indian Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and other senior leaders on Sunday.

India has already suggested an all-party government as the possible solution of the existing political deadlock in Nepal. Former Indian Prime Minister Chandra Shekhar who recently visited Nepal had also advised the same.
