Detained leaders undergo health check-up

A team of government-appointed medical doctors has performed health check-up of former prime minister and Nepali Congress president G P Koirala, CPN (UML) leader Madhav Kumar Nepal, and former Home Minister Purna Bahadur Khadka, reports said.

According to Rajdhani daily, a team of doctors including Abani Bhusan Upadhyay, Prakash Pandey and Dhan Bahadur Rana performed the check-up and found that none of these leaders had serious health problems.

Chief of the Kathmandu Police, Indra Neupane, also accompanied the visiting doctors.

Koirala, Nepal and Khadka have been placed under house-arrest immediately after the royal proclamation of February 1.

The deposed premier, Sher Bahadur Deuba, is also under house arrest for over a month now while other leaders including former premiers Surya Bahadur Thapa and Lokendra Bahadur Chand have already been freed.
