Kathmandu, June 27: On the 30th Auspicious Birthday of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Dipendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev, National Development and Honour Centre-Nepal organised a blood donation programme.
Deputy Speaker Chitra Lekha Yadav inaugurated the programme by lightening 30 panases (traditional lamps) that symbolise Crown Prince’s 30th Auspicious Birthday.
Some 65 persons donated the blood at the ceremony chaired by NDHC Chairman Kamal P. Dahal, stated in a press release.
The donors that included Parliamentarian Shankar P. Pandey, the fastest Everest Climber Kaji Sherpa and Dr Ananda Shrestha who donated blood the greatest number (107) of times were given away certificates
Meanwhile, RSS adds: in Pokhara, the 30th Auspicious Birthday of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince is being celebrated here by organising a variety of programmes under the aegis of the Auspicious Birthday celebration citizen’s committees constituted separately by the Pokhara Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Lekhnath Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The local Lions Cub of Chautari organised a blood donation programme here Monday to mark the occasion.
Various programmes like tree plantation, offering of prayers and worships at temples and shrines, distribution of fruits to patients and festive illuminations are being organised in Lekhnath and Pokhara Municipality for three days on the occasion of the 30th Auspicious Birthday of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince.
Likewise, on the occasion of the 30th Auspicious Birthday of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, Nepal Arya Samaj organised a free eye check-up camp at Sankhu Bazar here the other day.
The eye camp was organised in association with the VDC and Ward level Skill Development Centre, Sankhu.
On the occasion, 225 eye patients were provided free check-up services while 23 were recommended for ophthalmic operation.
Ophthalmologists Dr Man Mohan Shrestha and Mrs Manju Sharma rendered their services on the occasion. Medicines were also distributed to the patients free of cost.
