Corruption ailing nation, says Nepal

Rajbiraj, Jan. 26 : CPN-UML general secretary and leader of the Main Opposition Party Madhav Kumar Nepal has said any development work can be accomplished with the support of the local people and farmers.

Addressing a mass meeting at Pato Bazaar of Saptari district organised by the CPN-UML Saptari district committee, Nepal said corruption has become a cancer of the nation and the country cannot development unless it is wiped out and action taken against those indulging in corruption.

People trying to disturb the unity of the country are the enemy of the nation, Nepal said adding that all people whether living in the Terai or the hills should become united in matters relating to nationality and development.

CPN-UML standing committee member Bharat Mohan Adhikari pointed out the need to amend the constitution in order to constitute an electoral government for free and fair elections. That was why the CPN-UML has moved ahead with the proposal for an amendment to the constitution.

Central president of All Nepal Farmer’s Association and CPN-UML central member Keshav Badal, and CPN-UML central members Guru Baral and Suresh Karki also expressed their views at the programme chaired by CPN-UML Saptari district committee secretary Diwakar Devkota.

Earlier, general secretary Nepal inaugurated the ll km “Kisaan road” from Bishnupur Chowk to Fattehpur Pato Bazaar of Itahari Bishnupur VDC, so named by All Nepal Farmer’s Association.
