Committee formed to celebrate 100th birth anniversary of Boris Lisanevich

A 36-member committee headed by Narendra Bajracharya, president of Hotel Association has been formed to celebrate 100th birth anniversary of Boris Lisanevich, a White Russian, the pioneer of hotel industry in Nepal.

The Russian Center of Science and Culture (RCSC) and Hotel Association Nepal (HAN) are jointly organizing various programs to mark the anniversary.

Other members of the Committee include Russian Ambassador Andrei Trofimov, Director- Tourism Marketing and Promotion of Nepal Tourism Board Nandini Lahe Thapa, Mohan Gopal Khetan, Dr Upendra Mahato and others who are working to promote hotel business and Nepal-Russia ties are members of the committee.

The first meeting of the committee held on September 29 decided to organize various programs including establishment of Boris Lisanevich Executive Club at the Russian Cultural Centre to mark the occasion.

King Tribhuvan invited Boris to Kathmandu to open the country’s first international tourist hotel, which catered the celebrities visiting Nepal and expeditions members.
