At the invitation of Chairman of the Raj Parishad Standing Committee Parsu Narayan Chaudhary, Chairman of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, Jia Qinglin is paying an official goodwill visit to Nepal from December 2-3 next month, RSS said.
His Majesty the King will receive Jia Qinglin in audience during his sojourn in Nepal, the national news agency said.
Jia will have a meeting with Parsu Narayan Chaudhary, and will pay courtesy calls on Prime Minister Surya Bahadur Thapa and speaker of the House of Representatives Taranath Ranabhat, the agency said. “Ambassador-at-large Dr. Bhekh Bahadur Thapa will pay a courtesy call on Jia.”
During the visit, Nepali and Chinese governments are expected to sign two agreements, RSS added.
“One is related to economic and technical co-operation and the other concerning the opening up of two additional trading points – Kimathanka (Nepal)-Riwu (China) and Nechung (Nepal)-Lizi (China).”
Kimathanka and Nechung of Nepal are located in Sankhuasabha and Mustang districts. “With these two points, the total number of border points opened for overland trade between Nepal and China will be six, according to the agency.
