KATHMANDU: Nepali cricket sensation leg spinner Sandeep Lamichhane is in India to play Indian Premier League 2019 from Delhi Capitals. His team is taking on the last season’s winner Chennai Super Kings on Tuesday.
Nepali cricket fans are eagerly waiting for the start of the match to know if Sandeep makes it to Playing XI. Delhi had left Sandeep on bench as it kicked off its IPL 2019 journey against Mumbai Indians.
While many speculations are being made on chances of Sandeep playing today’s match, National Cricket Team Coach Jagat Tamata foresees slim chances of Sandeep making it to the Playing XI.
Talking with Khabarhub, he said Delhi will opt for the same set of players as it won its first match this season. According to him, changing players in such scenarios creates pressure on the team.
‘There are slim chances of Sandeep playing the match as leg spinners grabbed wickets in the previous. It is tough for Sandeep to make it to Playing XI due to quota on overseas players,” he said, “Sandeep is a potential player and will definitely play in coming matches”
