Cases filed against two officials

The Commission for the Investigation of the Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has filed corruption charges against two government officials at a special court in the capital , the CIAA said Thursday.

The charges were filed Wednesday against section chief of the Revenue Department Surersh Kumar Regmi and a junior officer of the Foreign Post office Keshab Raj Gautam.

The CIAA is preparing charges against 22 revenue officials. The CIAA said in the charge sheets Regmi had amassed Rs.5.5 million and Gautam Rs.18 million in illegal earnings.

The CIAA has asked the court to confiscate their ill-gotten wealth and pass maximum sentences. nepalnews.com br Nov.28
