Maoist rebels attacked the Gurkha Brewery based in Gaidakot of Nawalparasi district the manufacturer of the popular beer brands-Tuborg and Carlsberg at 10:00 pm Thursday night causing minor damage, a former lawmaker from the district said.
Talking to nepalnews, a senior director of the company said the attack did not take place in the premises of the Gurkha Brewery, which is located at a village called Mukundpur.
“There are some summer houses before arriving at the Brewery and the attack was carried out midway between the summer houses and the Brewery,” the senior director said.
“I cannot say exactly whether the bomb attack was targeted on our factory,” he said.
Independent reports said security forces defused a bomb planted at the bottling plant at Gaidakot while another went off at the factory gate while it was being defused. “The blast however has not hampered the daily production of the factory,” he said.
