Newly appointed Chief Justice Kedar Nath Upadhyaya possesses an experience of more that 42 years in the field of government and legal services.
He was born on 20 Magh , 1995 BS in Jaleswor, Mahottari. He had entered the government service as a senior account officer (gazette third class) in the accountant general’s office in 2017 BS Bhadra and
entered the legal service as section officer in the ministry of law and justice from Kartik 2020 BS.
He was deputy secretary in the ministry, Chief Judge in Bagmati zonal court, government lawyer and senior lawyer in the office of attorney general, additional justice in the eastern regional court and
judge in the mid-regional and west regional courts.
He has been working in the supreme court since Bhadra, 2048 BS. He also holds the post of chairman of the central legal library since 2053 BS.
He has a bachelor’s degree in commerce and BL (diploma in international law and special law). He is the brother of Biswo Nath Upadhyay who had become the Chief Justice just after the restoration of democracy in 1990.
