The two-day bandh (general strike) called by the Maoists have paralyzed life in Chitwan and Rupendehi districts.
All shops, schools and factories remain closed in the area. Chitwan is a major transport link between the eastern and western parts of the country including the capital. Buses plying on long-routes have been completely affected by the bandh.
The rebels said they had called the strike to protest the ‘anti judicial killing and abductions’ of their comrades by the security forces in the area. Chitwan and Rupendehi are located at the central and western part of the country. nepalnews.com pd Dec 14 04
