The Association of Nepalis in the Americas (ANA) has condemned the killing of twelve innocent Nepalis by the militants Army of Ansar al-Sunna in Iraq terming it as “brutal, heinous and merciless.”
In a statement issued Wednesday, ANA said the family of the victims, their rural villages, the country of Nepal and all the Nepalis living abroad have been left shocked and devastated by this horrible tragedy.
“This coward act by the militants was done in the name of god, whereas no religion in this world condones a merciless innocent human’s sacrifice without any reason or rhyme. We urge the international community to join us by condemning these deplorable acts, which is a shame to the civilized world,” said the statement signed by Krishna Nirola, president of ANA.
ANA has also urged Nepalis living abroad to visit its website,
http://www.ANAonline.org/iraq, and help the families of victim Nepalis in whatever way they can.
