Army chief returns

Chief of the Army Staff Pyar Jung Thapa returned to the capital Saturday after completing his two-day  visit to the Maoist affected areas in west Nepal.

In course of the visit Thapa made a stop over at western Pretna headquarter in Nepalgunj and the Royal Nepal Army offices in mid western and far western Nepal.

He acquired information about the army operations going on in the Maoist-hit areas. Thapa also met RNA soldiers in Thawang and Liwang of Rolpa,  Khalanga of Pyuthan, Musikot and Khara of Rukum, Jogbudha of Dadeldhura, Sandhikharka of Argakhachi, Bhimgitthi of Baglung and Tamghas of Gulmi.

During the meeting Thapa acquired information about the different aspects of the ongoing operations against the Maoist terrorists and gave out necessary instructions.
