KATHMANDU: The US-based Academy of Nepali Poets and Writers (ANPW) has donated 2,315 US dollars for the treatment of writer Dr Kumar Bahadur Joshi who is suffering from kidney problems.
Dr. Dhurba Chandra Gautam, president of the Academy’s Nepal branch, handed over the amount to Dr. Joshi in Kathmandu, Saturday. Dr. Joshi needs a kidney transplant. Necessary funds are being raised for Dr. Joshi’s kidney transplant and other treatment he make require.
The government has also provided 500,000 rupees for his treatment. Joshi is leaving for India for treatment Tuesday, his family members said.
