Army customs patrol team recently arrested six persons attempting to smuggle 93 kgs of hashish concealed in six gunny bags at Musaharnia village in Saptari recently across the border to India, police said.

Police arrested two persons, including a woman, and recovered 61 kgs of hashish worth Rs.125,000 concealed in her house at Bijalpura in Mohotari Saturday , police said. The woman was identified as Kusum Devi Das, 60.

Ganga Prasad Raut, her neighbour, was also arrested. Raut was a former chairman of the village. Police believe they were also involved in illegal hashish farming.
