KATHMANDU: Maoists have abducted 65 more students from different places in Achham, a published report said Monday.
The students were from schools under different resource centers in the district. 17 students from schools belonging to the Dhakari resource center were abducted. Similarly, 10 students from schools under the Dhaku resource center and 13 students from Netakot resource center were abducted. In the same vein, 17 abducted students were from the Turmakhat resource center while 18 students were from schools under the Bhairabsthan and Kalagaon centers, Nepal Samacharpatra said.
Nepali government schools fall under differnt resource centers as catagorized by the District Education Office.
According to the Chief Education Officer (CEO) of Achham, Mansingh Bista, no educational activities are taking place in the district fearing recent Maoist activities.
The pre-SLC test exam which was supposed to have begun from Monday is postponed till Wednesday due to the security reasons.
Noteworthy, 153 students and 5 teachers were abducted by Maoists from schools in Achham to involve them in the so called peoples’ war, published reports said Sunday.
