Maoists killed 51security personnel, including four soldiers, in attacks in Jumla and Gorkha overnight, Radio Nepal said quoting security sources.

Bodies of 24 rebels have been recovered so far in Jumla. Injured army and police personnel are being treated in the capital, Nepalgunj and Surkhet.

Insurgents decamped with gold and jewelry looked from banks in Khalangha Bazzar, reports from far west nepal said.

Chief District Officer Damodar Pant and senior police officer Bijaya Ghimere are missing in Jumla, Radio Nepal said.

87 Maoists are now officially confirmed dead in Jumla and Gorkha. The rebel death toll is expected to rise further.
