Three people died as they consumed adulterated and poisoned food in Baijanathpuri of Sumshergunj VDC, Nepalgunj, about 500 kilometers west of Kathmandu, Saturday, police said.

Several others have been injured because of the poisoned food. The injured are undergoing treatment in Nepalgunj Medical College. Doctors said they consumed home brewed liquor and food in the local market.The injured are now out of danger, doctors said.

According to police, necessary investigation has already been initiated.
