200 teachers abducted in Sindhuli, other details

KATHMANDU:  The Maoist rebels on Tuesday abducted 200 teachers from 17 schools in different villages of eastern Sindhuli, radio reports Tuesday afternoon said.

The teachers were abducted for a brief orientation on Maoist literature and principles, reports said. The rebels have asked the students not to come to the school till June 12.

Similarly, Maoists abducted four school headmasters from remote areas of Dhading district on Tuesday. The abducted headmasters, who have been identified as Dharmaraj Sinkhada, Deepak Sinkhada, Premsingh Tamang and Shir Bahadur Tamang are of Ganeshkunja Secondary School, Lakje Primary School, Rigaun Secondary School and Pasang Chowk Lower Secondary School respectively.

Meanwhile, the Maoist rebels shot and killed one Babura Thapa after his abduction at Laxmimarg chowk, Dagihat of Morang district Monday evening. The reason behind his murder is not known.
