16 Maoists killed

Sixteen Maoists were killed this week in fresh operations, including 13 in Gulmi, the Defence Ministry said Wednesday.

Thirteen rebels were shot dead in Gulmi where three security personnel were also killed, the Ministry said. Three insurgents were killed in Palpa and Rukum, the Ministry said.

One suspicious person was shot dead at Gurje Bhangyang in Kathmandu Tuesday, an official announcement said. Security forces fired on a group of suspicious persons to control a group about to attack a patrol. Bullets were recovered from the site.
