Fourteen former legislators in a prompt response to the Judicial Commission’s warning submitted their property details Friday.
Those who submitted their property details are Padma Sundar Lawati, Chandra Prakash Mainali, Renu Kumar Yadav, Gopalji Jung Shah, Narayan Singh Pun, Bal Bahadur Rai, Jit Bahadur Puri, Mahendra Ray Yadav, Khobhari Ray, Ram Chandra Yadav (Siraha), Brijesh Kumar Gupta, Hema Narayan Yadav and Gyanu K.C.
The Commission had blacklisted the 14 ex-legislators on Aug 16 after they were indifferent towards its repeated request to submit the forms.
A press release of the Commission said nine other ex-MPs submitted their property details. They are Devi Lal Thapa, Mahendradhoj GC, Govinda Chaudhary, Shyamlal Tabdar, Hari Prasad Chaudhary, Bhagwat Gyawali, Rudramani Sharma Bhandari, Shyam Sundar Gupta and Uddhavdev Bhatta.
The Commission also informed that it had been scrutinizing the 25,000 forms that it had received so far. It had distributed 36,000 forms to those in the government, semi-government and other institutions holding responsible positions. nepalnews.com am Sept 7
